Ma Lambly's

An Evening of History and Drama

Flossie Lambly outside of the Corner Snack Bar c.1950

Heritage Park Museum presents "Ma Lambly's", a one act historical drama. This historic production tells the life stories of nine women who made Terrace British Columbia their home between the years of 1880 and 1959. The play itself is performed in the Historic Dance Hall located at Heritage Park Museum. The Dance Hall was built in 1925 and was used as a gathering place during the 1930’s for community members from the Terrace region.

“Ma Lambly’s” is set in the "Corner Snack Bar", a popular business that was run in Terrace in the late 1940's and 50's by Flossie Lambly. Mrs. Lambly is packing up her business after 15 years, and while doing so reminisces about the people and events she remembers from her time in Terrace. While telling the audience of her and her family's story, 7 other women who impacted the development of this Northern British Columbian town are introduced to us. The actor starring in this production seamlessly moves from character to character with ease. Although just a taste of the history of Terrace, this historical interpretation is sure to provide the audience with a feeling of having met people from Terrace’s past and while learning about it’s history.

Enjoying this drama within this unique historical setting is an experience not to be missed.
